Rose Gold has really stood the test of time and no matter which street you are on, whether that be a boulevard in Paris or one leading down to a beach in Sydney, you are likely to see other passers-by wearing or carrying at least one item of rose gold. You might even spot some wearing rose gold espadrilles or heels out to the clubs later on in the evening.

This pink shade has not been confined to just the jewellery and fashion industry. It is now making major inroads into the car sector and motoring on into our homes via soft furnishings and interior design.

This colour has even taken the wedding sector by storm with not just bridal shoes and dresses but elaborate wedding cakes embellished with lots of rose gold detailing too.

The continued success of Rose Gold is its versatility to coordinate so well with pretty much any colour you want to pair it with. It also has the advantage of appearing much warmer than conventional gold.

Helped on its way by the copper trend, which made the public more aware of metallics, one of the key products to really make everyone stand up and take notice of this colour trend was when Apple adopted Rose Gold for it’s iPhone.

Over 40% of pre-orders of the iPhone 6, which was one of the most popular Apple iPhone launches, was for the Rose Gold version.

According to a market research study conducted by Panasonic amongst 20 – 29 year old women from the UK, France and Germany, respondents preferred beauty products such as hair straighteners and hairdryers to be produced in Rose Gold, as they envisaged this colour to be elegant, feminine and premium.

A film which also inspired many to start Instagramming this colour like crazy was The Grand Budapest Hotel which came out in 2014. This film showcased many retro pink interiors with luxurious rose gold detailing.

It has been an Instagram sensation ever since as it seems to match just about everything, helping Instagrammers to produce visually beautiful imagery.

Even guys are starting to get on the Rose Gold trend, with watches, ties and many clothing items carrying hints of this colour and unlike many pantone colour trends, which seem to change as quick as the weather, Rose Gold is firmly set to be around for quite some years yet.

In fact our first major sightings of Rose Gold on the high street, appeared in the form of ladies jewellery in about 2012 and it has not lost its illustrious lustre ever since!

Rose Gold really does seem to be one fashion trend, which is here to stay.
